Flights to Morocco From the USA: Direct Routes, Airlines & Local Advice
Last updated August 2026
Planning flights to Morocco from USA is much easier than it used to be. Americans can now fly nonstop to both Casablanca and Marrakech, which means the best flight depends not only on where you live in the United States, but also on where your Morocco trip should begin.
Royal Air Maroc connects several U.S. cities directly with Casablanca, while nonstop Marrakech options are available from Newark/New York with United and from Atlanta with Delta. That gives travelers more choice than many older Morocco flight guides still show.
I’m Kamal, a licensed Moroccan tour guide based in Marrakech, and my advice is not to choose a flight only because it is the cheapest one on the screen. Morocco is a long country. Landing in the right city can save you hours of travel after a long overnight flight.
If your trip begins with Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, Agafay, or a route toward the Sahara, a nonstop flight into Marrakech can be extremely useful. If you are planning a wider itinerary through Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Chefchaouen, the desert, and Marrakech, Casablanca can be the smarter gateway.
In this guide, I’ll show you which U.S. cities currently have direct flights to Morocco, which airlines operate them, whether Casablanca or Marrakech is better for your itinerary, how long the flights take, and what to consider before booking.
For the wider picture of Morocco’s airports and international connections, see my Flights to Morocco guide. If you are still deciding how to arrange the country itself, my Morocco Travel Routes guide will help you avoid unnecessary backtracking.
Direct Flights From USA to Morocco: Quick Answer
Yes. You can fly nonstop from the United States to Morocco, and there are now direct options to both Casablanca and Marrakech.
For Casablanca, Royal Air Maroc serves major U.S. gateways including New York JFK, Washington Dulles, Miami, and Los Angeles. For Marrakech, United flies from Newark/New York, while Delta flies from Atlanta.
The best route depends on where you live in the United States and, just as importantly, where your Morocco itinerary should begin.
| US Airport | Morocco Airport | Airline | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York JFK | Casablanca (CMN) | Royal Air Maroc | East Coast travelers and wider Morocco itineraries |
| Washington Dulles (IAD) | Casablanca (CMN) | Royal Air Maroc | Washington, Mid-Atlantic and connecting travelers |
| Miami (MIA) | Casablanca (CMN) | Royal Air Maroc | Florida and the Southeast |
| Los Angeles (LAX) | Casablanca (CMN) | Royal Air Maroc | West Coast travelers |
| Newark (EWR) | Marrakech (RAK) | United | Marrakech-first trips from the New York area |
| Atlanta (ATL) | Marrakech (RAK) | Delta | Southeast travelers and Marrakech-first itineraries |
Which US Cities Fly Direct to Morocco?
The main nonstop routes from the United States currently arrive in either Casablanca or Marrakech. Casablanca has the broader long-haul network, while Marrakech is especially useful if your trip begins in southern Morocco.
New York JFK to Casablanca
Royal Air Maroc flies direct from New York JFK to Casablanca Mohammed V Airport (CMN).
This is one of the most useful nonstop options for East Coast travelers because Casablanca works well as the starting point for a wider Morocco itinerary. From there, you can continue toward Rabat, Fes, Marrakech, or other parts of the country without first connecting through Europe.
Royal Air Maroc currently lists the nonstop flight at roughly 7 hours, although the exact journey time can vary.
I would choose this route if you want:
- Casablanca or Rabat near the beginning of your trip
- a wider route through several Moroccan regions
- easy onward travel toward Fes or Marrakech
- a nonstop East Coast option without a European connection
For travelers in the New York area, it is also worth comparing JFK–Casablanca with Newark–Marrakech before booking.
Washington Dulles to Casablanca

Royal Air Maroc operates nonstop flights from Washington Dulles (IAD) to Casablanca (CMN), giving travelers around Washington, Virginia, Maryland, and the wider Mid-Atlantic a direct way to reach Morocco without routing through New York or Europe.
This route makes the most sense if Dulles is your nearest major gateway or you can connect there easily from another U.S. city. It is particularly practical for travelers beginning a wider Morocco itinerary from Casablanca or Rabat.
If Marrakech is your main destination, compare the total journey with the nonstop U.S. flights that land directly there.
Miami to Casablanca
Royal Air Maroc operates nonstop flights from Miami (MIA) to Casablanca (CMN), making this one of the most practical Morocco routes for travelers in Florida and the Southeast.
It is especially useful if Miami is your closest major international gateway and you want to reach Morocco without connecting through New York or Europe.
For travelers planning a wider itinerary through Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, or Marrakech, this route gives you a clean starting point without adding another international connection.
Los Angeles to Casablanca
Royal Air Maroc operates nonstop flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Casablanca (CMN), giving West Coast travelers a direct way to reach Morocco without connecting through New York or Europe.
This is a particularly useful option for travelers from California and the western United States, where reaching Morocco previously often meant adding another connection.
If Casablanca fits the beginning of your itinerary, the nonstop can simplify a very long travel day. If your trip starts in Marrakech, compare the complete journey before booking rather than looking only at the number of flights.
Newark to Marrakech
United flies nonstop from Newark Liberty (EWR) to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), giving travelers in the New York area a direct way to begin their trip in Marrakech without connecting through Casablanca or Europe.
This route is especially convenient if Marrakech is your first major stop or if you plan to continue toward the Atlas Mountains, Agafay, or the Sahara.
United’s schedule varies by travel date, so check your exact dates before building the rest of your itinerary around this nonstop route. If Marrakech is your arrival point, see my Marrakech Airport Transfer Guide for what to expect after you land.
Atlanta to Marrakech

Delta flies nonstop from Atlanta (ATL) to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), giving travelers in the Southeast a direct way to reach Marrakech without connecting through Casablanca or Europe.
This route is especially convenient for travelers who can reach Atlanta easily and want Marrakech to be the first stop of the trip.
Delta currently operates the route three times per week, so check your exact travel dates before booking.
What About Boston to Morocco?
You may also see Boston (BOS) to Casablanca (CMN) when searching Royal Air Maroc.
In 2026, Royal Air Maroc operated a special series of direct Boston–Casablanca flights connected with Morocco’s World Cup travel program. However, I would not treat Boston as one of Morocco’s established regular nonstop U.S. gateways unless Royal Air Maroc confirms a continuing nonstop schedule for your dates.
Royal Air Maroc does sell Boston–Casablanca itineraries, so travelers from New England should still compare Boston with JFK and other nearby gateways. Just check whether the flight you are booking is actually nonstop or connecting.
Should You Fly From the USA to Casablanca or Marrakech?
For American travelers, the choice between Casablanca and Marrakech often comes down to which nonstop route is available from your part of the United States and where your Morocco itinerary should begin.
Choose Casablanca if you are flying from JFK, Washington Dulles, Miami, or Los Angeles and your trip covers several parts of Morocco. It works especially well when Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, or northern Morocco are near the beginning of the itinerary.
Choose Marrakech if you can use a nonstop route into Marrakech and your trip starts with Marrakech itself, the Atlas Mountains, Agafay, or a route toward the Sahara.
For example, someone planning Casablanca → Rabat → Fes → Sahara → Marrakech will usually make better use of a Casablanca arrival. Someone planning Marrakech → Atlas Mountains → desert → Marrakech may save valuable time by landing directly in Marrakech.
Do not choose between the two airports based only on airfare. Compare the flight with the first few days of your itinerary. A slightly more expensive nonstop into the right city can be worth more than saving money and then spending hours traveling across Morocco after landing. If you are comparing what happens after arrival, my Morocco Transportation Guide explains the main ways to travel between Moroccan cities.
For a full comparison of Morocco’s airports, see my Flights to Morocco guide.
How Long Is a Flight From the USA to Morocco?
A nonstop flight from the United States to Morocco usually takes about 7 hours or more from the East Coast, while West Coast flights are significantly longer.
Royal Air Maroc lists the direct New York JFK to Casablanca flight at approximately 7 hours. Flights from Washington, Miami, Newark, and Atlanta are in a similar long-haul range, while Los Angeles to Casablanca is naturally much longer because of the distance.
If you are taking a one-stop flight through Europe, the total journey can easily become much longer once you add the connection.
When comparing flights, I would look at:
- total travel time
- connection length
- arrival time in Morocco
- whether you land in Casablanca or Marrakech
- how much ground travel is still needed after landing
A seven-hour nonstop into the wrong city is not automatically better than a slightly longer journey that puts you exactly where your Morocco itinerary begins.
What Is the Cheapest Month to Fly to Morocco From the USA?
There is no single month that is always the cheapest for flights from the USA to Morocco. Prices change depending on your departure city, airline, school holidays, demand, and how early you book.
In general, late fall and winter often offer better-value fares, especially outside Christmas, New Year, and major holiday periods. February can be competitive on some routes, but good fares can appear at other times of year too.
Instead of choosing your trip around one supposedly cheap month, I recommend comparing a range of dates around the period you actually want to visit.
To find a better fare:
- compare several departure dates if your schedule is flexible
- check both Casablanca and Marrakech when either airport works for your itinerary
- compare nonstop flights with one-stop options
- look at nearby U.S. departure airports
- include baggage and seat fees when comparing the real price
- check the arrival time and how much ground travel you will still need in Morocco
My advice is to choose the best time for your Morocco trip first, then search for the best fare around those dates. The flight should fit the trip, not control it.
Do Americans Need a Visa for Morocco?
No. U.S. citizens do not need a tourist visa for Morocco for visits of 90 days or less.
You do, however, need a valid U.S. passport. The U.S. State Department advises that your passport should have at least six months of validity when you enter Morocco and at least one blank page available for a stamp.
For a normal vacation, you do not need to arrange a Moroccan tourist visa before boarding your flight.
If you plan to stay longer than 90 days, work, study, or live in Morocco, different rules apply and you should check the current requirements before traveling.
For a full explanation of entry rules, passport requirements, longer stays, and other traveler questions, see my Morocco Visa Guide.
I also recommend checking your passport well before buying a non-refundable ticket. Discovering that it is close to expiry a few days before departure is an unnecessary problem to have.
When Should You Book Flights to Morocco From the USA?
When comparing flights to Morocco from USA, there is no exact number of days in advance that guarantees the cheapest fare. Prices change depending on your departure city, travel dates, demand, and how full the flight is.
For an international trip like Morocco, I recommend starting to watch fares a few months before you travel rather than waiting until the last minute.
If you are traveling around Christmas, New Year, school holidays, or another busy period, start looking earlier. If your dates are flexible, compare several departure days because moving your trip by even a day or two can sometimes make a noticeable difference.
Google Flights is useful for comparing:
- nearby travel dates
- different U.S. departure airports
- Casablanca and Marrakech arrivals
- nonstop and connecting flights
- fare changes over time
If you find a good nonstop flight that fits your itinerary and budget, I would not wait too long hoping for a perfect “cheapest day.”
For Morocco, always compare the total journey, not only the airfare. A slightly more expensive nonstop flight that lands in the right city can be a much better choice than a cheaper ticket with a long connection and several more hours of travel after you arrive.
Compare Flights From the USA to Morocco
Once you know which Moroccan airport fits your itinerary, compare fares from your U.S. departure city before booking. Check both Casablanca and Marrakech when either arrival works for your trip, and compare the total journey time as well as the ticket price.
Nonstop or Connecting Flight to Morocco?
A nonstop flight is usually the easiest option from the USA to Morocco, especially after an overnight journey. You avoid changing airports, worrying about a missed connection, and adding several more hours to the trip.
But nonstop is not always the best choice.
A connecting flight can make sense if:
- the fare is significantly lower
- you live far from a U.S. nonstop gateway
- the connection is short and straightforward
- it allows you to land in the Moroccan city that fits your itinerary better
For example, I would not automatically fly several hours across the United States just to catch a nonstop flight if a good one-stop itinerary is available from your home airport.
Check the total journey time, not just the number of stops. A cheap ticket can become much less attractive if it adds a long overnight layover or turns the trip into 16 or 20 hours of travel. If the nonstop fare is reasonable, I would usually take it. If the price difference is large, a good one-stop flight can still make perfect sense.
