Bacha Coffee Marrakech: Prices, Waiting Time & Is It Worth It?
Bacha Coffee Marrakech can be worth visiting if you want a coffee experience inside Dar El Bacha and have time to enjoy it. The difficult part is often getting a table. In my experience, the wait can be around one hour to an hour and a half, so I would plan it as a proper stop rather than a quick coffee between monuments.
I’m Kamal, a licensed Moroccan tour guide based in Marrakech. I have visited Bacha Coffee myself, and my main advice is simple: go early, understand the entry fees and keep the rest of your morning flexible.
You do not need to spend your holiday waiting for a place just because it looks beautiful on social media. But if the setting interests you, a little planning can make the visit easier.

Is Bacha Coffee Marrakech Worth It?
I would recommend considering Bacha Coffee if the palace setting and the experience of sitting down for coffee are part of what you want from Marrakech.
It makes less sense if you only need a quick drink, have a tight sightseeing schedule or are traveling with people who will find a long wait uncomfortable.
The setting is a major part of the attraction. Bacha Coffee is located within Dar El Bacha, a historic palace that also houses the Museum of Confluences. It serves Arabica coffees from different origins, alongside food and pastries.
Think about the time as well as the bill. A coffee may fit your budget, but a long queue can take away the morning you wanted to spend exploring the Medina.
My advice is to decide your own waiting limit before you arrive. If you have only two days in Marrakech, you may prefer to move on when the wait is much longer than expected.

Where Is Bacha Coffee in Marrakech?

Bacha Coffee is inside Dar El Bacha on Route Sidi Abdelaziz, in the old Medina. When looking it up, search for the Dar El Bacha coffee room rather than relying only on the brand name, which has locations in different countries.
The neighborhood works well with a walk through Mouassine, Le Jardin Secret and the souks. The best order depends on your starting point and whether coffee or sightseeing is your priority.
If you come by taxi, show the driver the Dar El Bacha location and agree on the fare or use the meter where available. Leave time for the final walk and finding the correct entrance.
For walking and shopping advice, my Marrakech Souks Guide explains how to explore without rushing.
Bacha Coffee Opening Hours and Monday Closure
The normal opening time is 10:00 am. Plan your visit from Tuesday to Sunday, as Monday is the regular closing day.
Marrakech’s official tourism website lists the coffee room’s hours as 10:00 am–6:00 pm. The National Foundation of Museums lists the same hours for the museum, with Monday closed.
Arriving close to closing time does not guarantee that you will be seated. If the wait is long, there may not be enough time left for another table.
Check again around Ramadan, public holidays or temporary closures. A normal timetable should not be treated as a promise for every date.
How Long Is the Wait at Bacha Coffee Marrakech?
In my experience, waiting around one hour to an hour and a half is realistic. That is a useful allowance when planning, but it is not a fixed waiting time.
Some visitors get in more quickly. Others report longer waits. The number of people ahead of you, available tables and your group size can all affect the visit.
There can also be a difference between entering the building and being seated for coffee. Ask the staff what the quoted wait actually covers.
When you arrive, confirm how the waiting process works that day. If staff allow you to leave and return, ask how you will be called, how far you can go and when you must be back. Do not leave assuming your place will automatically be held.
Allow time for coffee after the wait. A 90-minute queue followed by a relaxed visit can use a substantial part of your morning.
How to Reduce the Waiting Time
Arrive Before the 10:00 am Opening
My first recommendation is to arrive before the doors open. Going early gives you a better chance of being among the first visitors, although it cannot guarantee immediate seating.
If Bacha Coffee is important to you, make it the first stop of the morning rather than fitting it between two timed bookings.
Avoid promising yourself that a particular weekday or afternoon will always be quiet. Conditions change, and one person’s easy visit does not establish a reliable rule.
Can a Local Guide Help You Get In Faster?
In my experience, visiting with a licensed local guide early in the morning can help you get in much more quickly. A guide who knows the entrance arrangements can also help organize the morning and explain the palace and neighborhood.
However, Bacha Coffee’s published reservation policy says the Dar El Bacha location accepts walk-in guests only. Guide-assisted access should not be described as an official reservation or an unconditional skip-the-line guarantee.
Before paying for a guided visit, ask exactly what access has been arranged, whether it covers café seating or only entry, and which fees are included. Current arrangements and the staff’s decision on the day still matter.
I would choose a guide for a wider Medina visit and local context, with any assistance at Bacha Coffee confirmed in advance.
Keep a Backup Plan
If the wait is beyond your limit, continue your morning elsewhere. You can explore the surrounding streets, visit another attraction or choose a café that has space.
A useful question is: would you still want this stop if you could not take photographs? Your answer helps you decide how much of your holiday to give it.
Bacha Coffee Prices: Entry, Museum and Drinks
There are separate costs to understand before visiting: access to the café, museum admission and what you order.
Café-Only Entry: 10 MAD
Based on my local experience, café-only access costs 10 MAD. This is an entrance charge, not the price of your coffee, and it does not mean a table is immediately available.
If you only want the coffee room, say so clearly when buying your ticket.
Dar El Bacha Museum: 60 MAD for Foreign Visitors
The National Foundation of Museums currently lists a 60 MAD museum ticket for foreign visitors. It lists different prices for Moroccan visitors.
Confirm the ticket you need at the entrance, including whether it covers any access associated with the café. Do not assume you must buy both tickets, or that either ticket includes drinks.
Museum admission and café seating are different things. Paying to visit the museum does not itself guarantee a coffee table.
How Much Does Coffee Cost?
For your budget, allow around 44 MAD for a coffee at Bacha Coffee Marrakech. Prices depend on the coffee you choose, so check the menu before ordering.
Premium coffee selections, food and pastries can increase the bill. Ask the staff about the price of your chosen coffee instead of assuming every selection costs the same.
Using those starting figures, café-only entry and one 44 MAD coffee would be around 54 MAD per person before food or any other purchases. This is a planning example, not a guaranteed package price.
Bring some cash for the entrance and ask about payment options for your order. My Morocco Travel Guide covers the wider practical basics.
What to Order at Bacha Coffee

Start with what you normally enjoy: a light or stronger coffee, a particular origin, hot or iced coffee, or a flavored selection. Ask the staff to help you choose within your budget.
You do not need to buy the most expensive coffee to enjoy the setting. For a first visit, one coffee and a pastry may be enough if that is all you want.
Check the food menu separately before deciding to turn the stop into breakfast or lunch. Choosing a café experience and choosing a meal are different budget decisions.
If you buy packaged coffee to take home, read the description and choose according to your taste rather than only the presentation.

Should You Visit the Museum Too?
Consider the museum if you are interested in Moroccan architecture, decorative details and exhibitions. Dar El Bacha is more than a place to drink coffee.
The museum operator describes courtyards and rooms with zellige, carved wood and decorative plasterwork. The building can give you something worthwhile to focus on beyond the café.
If you have limited time, decide whether your priority is the museum or coffee. Ask staff whether a museum visit can fit into the waiting process before planning to do both.
This guide focuses on the coffee room. For a wider sightseeing route, use my Marrakech Travel Guide.

How to Fit Bacha Coffee Into a Medina Morning
If coffee is your priority, start at Dar El Bacha before opening. Afterward, continue toward Mouassine, Le Jardin Secret or the souks according to your interests and energy.
Keep lunch flexible and avoid placing a fixed appointment immediately after your arrival at the coffee room. The waiting time is the uncertain part of the plan.
If shopping is also on your list, my Private Marrakech Souks Shopping Tour explains how we explore crafts and shopping with local guidance. Mention a possible Bacha Coffee stop when discussing the route so we can check feasibility; café access and expenses should be confirmed separately.
For a longer stay, my 7 Days in Marrakech Itinerary helps you spread sightseeing and excursions across the week.
FAQs About Bacha Coffee Marrakech
Can You Reserve a Table at Bacha Coffee Marrakech?
The official policy for the Dar El Bacha coffee room is walk-in only, with no reservations. Do not apply booking policies from the brand’s other locations to Marrakech.
Is Bacha Coffee Open on Mondays?
Monday is the regular closing day. Plan for Tuesday–Sunday and check current opening arrangements before visiting.
Does the 10 MAD Entry Fee Include Coffee?
No. The café-access fee and your order are separate expenses.
Do You Need a Museum Ticket Just to Have Coffee?
In my local experience, café-only access is available for 10 MAD. Ask for the appropriate ticket at the entrance; the museum visit has a separate admission price.
Is the Coffee Worth a 90-Minute Wait?
That depends on what you want from the visit. If the setting is a priority and your schedule is flexible, you may consider it worthwhile. If you need a quick drink or have little time in Marrakech, I would keep another option available.
Can You Visit With Children?
The practical issue is whether your children will be comfortable with the wait. Go early, ask about the expected delay and keep an alternative ready rather than making the stop compulsory.
Can a Guide Guarantee Skip-the-Line Entry?
In my experience, visiting with a licensed local guide early in the morning can help you get in faster. Ask your guide about the current arrangements before booking, as immediate café seating is not guaranteed
